The Place
About Barbati
A village, a beach, and a way of life that feels like it belongs to another era.
The Village
Barbati sits on the northeastern coast of Corfu, a 30-minute drive from Corfu Town. It's one of the few places on the island that has resisted overdevelopment — a small collection of tavernas, a beautiful pebble beach, and hillsides thick with olive and cypress trees.
The sea here is exceptional — deep blue turning turquoise close to shore, with visibility that makes you feel like you're floating in glass. The beach is rarely crowded, even in high summer.
Getting Here
- By air: Corfu International Airport (CFU) — direct flights from most European cities in summer.
- By ferry: Ferries from Igoumenitsa (mainland Greece) run frequently. The crossing takes 90 minutes.
- By car: We recommend renting a car. Barbati is 18 km north of Corfu Town — about 30 minutes on the coastal road.
- Transfer: We can arrange airport transfers on request. Just let us know when you book.

Best Time to Visit
Corfu has one of the longest seasons in Greece. The sea is warm from May through October. July and August are peak months — warm, sunny, and busy. For a quieter stay with perfect weather, May, June, and September are ideal.
Spring brings wildflowers and lush greenery. Autumn is golden, warm, and peaceful. Winter is mild by northern European standards, though most facilities close.
